Advanced Drones Part 107

The Advanced Drones Part 107 course is designed for students ages 14+ who want to advance their drone skills and work toward earning their FAA Part 107 certification. Students ages 16+ have the opportunity to earn their FAA Part 107 certification. This program builds on previous drone experience and introduces First Person View (FPV) flight training alongside professional certification preparation.

Convert & Fly First Person View (FPV) Drones

Students will take their drone-building experience from 1A- Intro To Aerospace and convert it into a fully functional FPV drone. With provided FPV goggles and equipment, students will learn to navigate using first-person view, enhancing their precision and control in flight.

FAA Part 107 Exam Preparation

For students aiming to become professional drone pilots, this course includes a structured, step-by-step curriculum designed to prepare them for the FAA Part 107 exam. Students ages 16+ will be eligible to take the exam and obtain their commercial drone certification, allowing them to legally operate drones for professional purposes.

Academic Commitment & Training

This course requires dedication, as students will complete:

  • Weekly reading assignments from a provided textbook

  • Homework and memorization of FAA rules and regulations

  • Flight simulator training to build confidence and reinforce safety procedures

  • Emphasis on safety, personal responsibility, and pre-flight checklists

Lab Fees: $375 per semester/ $750 per year, Lab fee assistance program available by application available during registration (April).

  • FPV equipment, maintenance, replacement

  • Part 107 test fee (endorsed single attempt)
