Job Summary: The Human Resources manages the entire employee lifecycle, This role owns the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation administration, employee relations, and compliance. This role will support the course programming by managing the substitute needs, engage independent contractors, and ensure instructor evaluations are conducted and communicated.
Key Responsibilities:
● Talent Acquisition: Own full-cycle recruiting for employees and independent contractors, including workforce planning, job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer management. Develop scalable recruiting processes to support organizational growth.
● Job Architecture: Define and document job descriptions, compensation ranges, and employment classifications in compliance with federal and state regulations. Ensure proper classification of employees vs. independent contractors.
● Workforce Planning and Deployment: Maintain proper staffing levels, including management of the substitute pool. Manage the substitute process, and ensure all programs are staffed appropriately.
● Employee Relations: Handling conflicts, disciplinary actions, and fostering a positive culture. Will conduct investigations due to parent notifications, incidents, injuries, or other required follow-up.
● Compensation, Payroll & Benefits Administration: Partner with payroll and benefits providers, internal and external, to ensure accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, leave management, and compliance with applicable regulations.
● Training & Development: Organizing onboarding, skill-building, and career advancement programs.
● HR Compliance & Risk Management: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain complete and accurate employee records, including I-9 documentation, background checks, fingerprinting, and contractor documentation. Ensure compliance with youth protection requirements and workplace safety standards. Manage compliant onboarding and offboarding processes.
● Performance Management: Overseeing evaluations and performance improvement plans.
● HR Infrastructure & Systems: Establish and manage HR systems, workflows, and documentation to support a growing organization. Implement scalable processes for recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compliance tracking, and personnel records.
● Leadership Support & Organizational Development: Advise leadership on staffing strategy, organizational structure, performance issues, and workforce planning. Help develop a high-performance culture aligned with the company’s mission and growth objectives.
Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
● Experience:
o Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR experience with direct responsibility for recruiting, employee relations, and HR compliance
o Experience building or managing HR functions in a small or growing organization strongly preferred o Experience managing both employees and independent contractors preferred
o Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, I-9 compliance, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience supporting organizations serving youth, education, aviation, or technical workforce environments
● Experience implementing or managing HR systems (HRIS)
